Description
Offered here is a spectacular and completely original and authentic Arizona State Sun Devils football jersey from the mid 1960s. The jersey was made by Fab-Knit and has a size tag in the tail indicating size 46 and further identifying the jersey as having been distributed by Holts Sporting Goods. The jersey has the number 72 sewn on the front and remnants of the same number on the back. The number 72 was worn by David Pendergass in 1966, so this could have been his jersey. It was also worn by Joe Sica in 1967. The jersey features distinctive Sun Devil mascot logo patches embroidered on the shoulders. The sleeves have triple stripes near the end; the sleeves are 3/4 length. The jersey style matches photos of famed Sun Devil, Curley Culp, the ASU Hall of Famer who wore #77 from 1965-1967 (see attached photos). Although this jersey shows great use and is not in pristine condition, it is a true rarity from a key period in ASU football history.
