    From an old-time collection of fine British and Commonwealth coins and currency, Lincoln Gold & Coin is pleased to offer this Series 1940 One Rupee
    banknote issued between August 15, 1947 and January 26, 1950. This is undoubtedly one of the most difficult banknotes to obtain in high grade condition; in fact this note is considered exceedingly rare in any grade. Distinguished from the British India notes by its red serial number, this seldom offered note is just part of a larger collection of rare British India coins and currency available online and at our store in California. This note is free of the usual staple or pinholes and would make a wonderful acquisition for the advanced collector.
