Queen Elizabeth I Handmade Mosaic Wall Art.
This is an original mosaic piece, one of a kind. The face has been painted in oils on wood, and the frame is antique hand carved wood, Victorian Eastlake to be specific.
The piece is approximately 19” x 32”
Every piece I make is made in an antique frame, and I scour flea markets, antique shops and eBay for my frames. I choose them because of their uniqueness, which I would hope the buyer would appreciate! That being said there are flaws: chips, cracks, nail holes, etc.
The inspiration for this piece was seeing some of the gorgeous, lavish costumes Queen Elizabeth I wore and was painted in. I wondered about the difficulties in attempting to recreate one, and this was my attempt.
