Maintenance History:
Brand new Mazda 13B-REW engine installed in house with 00 in Mazda receipts including; the new engine, filters, gaskets, engine mounts, idler pulleys, belts, metering oil tubes, knock sensor, oil lever sensor, clutch slave cylinder, clutch master cylinder, clutch hardline, spark plugs, ignition wire set, water temperature sensor, 02 sensor, vacuum solenoids, injector diffusers, injector grommets, and gear shift boot seal. We replaced all of the vacuum lines with silicone, and retained the original OE vacuum configuration. We also had the original injectors sent out for cleaning and flow testing before installation. A new Exedy OE clutch was utilized, along with fresh gear and engine oil after two engine break-in flushes.
Description:
We’re pleased to offer this FD3S for sale with a brand new 13B-REW sourced from Mazda Japan, to replace it’s original low compression engine. All work was done in house in a restorative manner, and no expense was spared to ensure proper operation and reliability of the new engine and its components. After several hundred miles of road testing we signed off on the operation of the vehicle and it is now ready to pass on to the new owner.
The interior is mostly original, with an upgraded Alpine stereo. The cloth checkered pattern seats are quite nice compared to the commonly equipped alcantara seats. The dash does suffer from heat stress in certain areas which can be seen lifting along the cluster bezel trim. The driver side door panel storage compartment lid is cracked and has been mended back together. Otherwise, the rest of the interior is in great shape; the original RX-7 floor mats are present, the roadside emergency equipment is in tact, the gauge cluster works, the climate control functions, and the A/C blows cold!
The exterior of this RX-7 has been repainted in it’s original silver color. Small imperfections in the undercoat of the paint give the previous bodywork away. Some areas are more noticeable than others, particularly the headlight covers and driver side mirror. Overall the paint is a 7/10 with well executed mask lines. The body panels are in great shape with minimal scratches and dings, and the entire car was polished and ceramic coated in preparation for the sale. One notable mention is that the front bumper upper support is missing, which makes the upper portion of the front bumper sag. Fortunately, the underside of the car is rust free. Although, some corrosion on bolt heads and suspension components are in line with what you would expect from a 25-year old car. The original Watanabe wheels were left in their present condition, showing rock chips from use in the finish. Our intention was to leave refinishing up to the new owner, as these wheels are a rare JDM commodity and perhaps their originality would be desired. Finally the 16x8 Watanabes are wrapped in brand new Michelin pilot sport tires.
Please inquire for more information, we are happy to share our experience with this car and to answer any questions.
